When it comes to mental issues and adults your options are slim in forcing them to get help. It takes 2 immediate family member signatures to involuntarily commit an adult. Also it can take the smallest trigger to finally make the mental breakdown occur. My heart breaks for that family and I hate he did all that. Trust me I am not taking up for him just bringing awareness to how things work with mental illness and adults. I am a behavioral specialist so I deal with this frequently
